Brenda Lewis & Gayle Ackroyd's 6th Annual Christmas Harmonies Concert Returns to Guelph Image

On Saturday December 8th at 7:30pm, local chanteuses Brenda Lewis and Gayle Ackroyd bring their sixth annual popularChristmas Harmonies concert to the ANAF Club. They return with their trademark family-like vocal harmonies, which are no surprise as Brenda's older brother Dave - and Gayle's sister Mary and brother-in-law Jim toured in a country rock band together across Canada and in Europe throughout the 1980's.

The duo perform a sweet and sassy selection of lesser-known holiday gems, taking the audience on a journey of holiday cheer through 1930s to 1960s pop and jazz, to more recent country and folk plus originals written by Gayle on guitar and ukulele. This year they are joined on a few songs by special guests acclaimed singer-songwriter Laura Bird http://www.laurabird.com/, and, Marilyn Alexander http://www.facebook.com/Marilyn-Alexander-183837102229231.

Aside from their Christmas show, Brenda and Gayle have in recent years expanded their performances to repertoire suitable for any time of the year and have gained a loyal following in Guelph Civic Museum's Fourth Fridays concert series, and, Guelph Guild of Storytellers Guild's Tea n Tales summer series at Riverside Park. Further details and advance tickets $10 online at https://guelph.snapd.com/events/view/1205031At the door, tickets $15 (cash only). The ANAF Club 344 anaf.ca is located at 32 Gordon Street, Guelph and is a licensed venue, 19+.
