The fall 2016 season of /A•STIR/ which included development of five new musicals, wrapped this week. The mission of the /A•STIR/ is to introduce movement as a narrative tool to writers, composers, directors, and producers of projects in the early writing and development stages. A new work by Verb Ballets dancer, Antonio Morillo, was selected by the Martha Graham Company for the Next@Graham Studio Series. The company will debut the work on January 4, 2017 at 8:00pm at the Graham Studio Theater in NYC. Six other national companies and Graham Alumni, Pascal Rioult/RIOULT Dance NY will appear on the program.

International Youth Fellowship (IYF) today announced they have partnered with Gracias Choir to offer Gracias Christmas Cantata free to the general public. Gracias Choir, an international award-winning choral and orchestral group, will perform their signature Gracias Christmas Cantata, a three-stage musical Christmas concert at the United Palace Theater on Broadway between 176th and 175th streets for 2 days, on January 6th and January 7th 2017 at 7:00 PM.

On December 19, one month to the day after Trump's Broadway-fueled Twitter deluge, Liz Meriwether and Shira Milikowsky put on A SAFE AND SPECIAL PLACE, an evening of works written and performed by some of the theater's best and most promising talents. The event, held within the atmospheric walls of the McKittrick Hotel and which benefited The Trevor Project and Kids in Need of Defense was, as you could guess, anything but what Trump would deem "safe and special."

Another New York holiday tradition returns to warm the holidays! Amore Opera's 'Hansel & Gretel' gingerbread delight is back and this year is being presented for the first time in the Upper East Side at the Theatre at St. Jean's (on E. 76th between Lexington and 3rd Avenue).
