Sydney's New Favourite Live Story Show, A LIKELY STORY Debuts at Café Lounge
Sydney's new favourite live story show, "A Likely Story" is bringing this brilliant and quietly addictive entertainment to life in a series of Sunday afternoon sessions at Surry Hill's famous live entertainment venue Café Lounge (The Tonight Show with John Conway & The Comedy Lounge).
Six local creative writers, including playwright and raconteur Phil Spencer (ABC Radiotonic & Story Club) will take to the floor on Sunday 13th August at 5:30PM and, like true storytellers always do, take you on a ride into the most ridiculous, intimate and wildly funny moments of their lives.
"We wanted to create a relaxed Sunday night out in Sydney, that feels like you've been invited round to drink, laugh and share delightfully honest stories. There's nothing quite like a good story, told well. Except for a true story, told hilariously," says A Likely Story writer and co-producer Hannah Pembroke.
A Likely Story was born from a low-fi writers weekend, where Sydney writers Hannah Pembroke, Emma Ryan, Holly McBride, Kiri Langford and Annie Schofield identified the need for a regular story night that showcased local storytellers.
The full gamut of human experience will be represented; from a struggling student doctor trying to embrace the realities of country residency to an amateur bikini model seeking to keep it real.
A Likely Story is set to be the regular Sunday hang out for Sydney-siders. Come along to the inaugural story event for a warm and boozy atmosphere at the Cafe lounge, Sunday 13 August with special guest Phil Spencer + more to be announced.
