Riverside To Present Two Exceptional New Plays For Children This April This April, Riverside Theatres will present two exceptional and exciting new theatre works for young people, Roald Dahl's George's Marvellous Medicine and Patrice Balbina's Chance Encounter with the End of the World.

Direct from a sold-out season at the Sydney Opera House, Roald Dahl's George's Marvellous Medicine is a spectacular live show filled with mischief, music, magic and mayhem! It tells the story of George and how a boring day with his Grandma, quickly turns into a marvelous experiment of epic proportions.

The production has been adapted for the stage by shake & stir theatre company, the award-winning team behind the Australian production of Dahl's Revolting Rhymes & Dirty Beasts (2015).

On 11th April, the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) will present the captivating production, Patrice Balbina's Encounter with the End of the World. Funny, surprising and deeply moving, the production will take audiences on an extraordinary journey, seen through the eyes of a ten-year-old girl.

This multi-lingual show for older children is the result of a truly international collaboration between six leading theatre companies from Italy, Canada, Portugal, the UK and Australia. Directed by ATYP Artistic Director Fraser Corfield, the show has charmed audiences worldwide and is set to do it again at Riverside Theatres.

Touring Australia since 2006, shake & stir is one of the country's leading contemporary theatre companies. Recent mainstage work has included: The Australian premiere of Green Day's American Idiot (2017 Helpmann Award nominations - Best Lighting Design, Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical), George's Marvellous Medicine (2017 Matilda Award nomination - Best Mainstage Production), and Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes & Dirty Beasts (2016 Helpmann Award nominations - Best Presentation for Children and Best Regional Touring Production).
