GIFT HORSE: Celia Pacquola Adds Perth & Sydney Performances
GIFT HORSE will play the Regal Theatre in Subiaco and Sydney Opera House's Joan Sutherland Theatre.
Fresh from being awarded the prestigious Most Outstanding Show at last month's 2026 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Celia has added Perth shows to her national tour, plus an extra show in Sydney, joining the already announced extra performances in Melbourne.
Gift Horse will play at Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 July at the Regal Theatre in Subiaco, and Sunday 8 November in the Sydney Opera House's Joan Sutherland Theatre, in addition to three new shows on Thursday 18 and Saturday 20 June at the Comedy Theatre.
Tickets on sale for Perth and Sydney on Friday 8 May at Comedy.com.au. Melbourne on sale now at Comedy.com.au.
Celia wasn't planning on doing a show in 2026, then her boyfriend gave her an inflatable kayak for her birthday… So here we are. With a show about the people we love and the things they give us that we hate.
Crammed with incriminatingly honest stories, Gift Horse sees Celia taking (her) silliness very seriously. In the bin fire of modern life, she reminds us why we need friends, love, and to continue to connect to real life humans (offence to ChatGPT well and truly intended).
Celia Pacquola is a chameleon – stand up comedian, writer and actor – who springs effortlessly between stage and screen. She has become one of our best-loved and most in-demand performers in any genre. She first picked up a mic as a Raw Comedy contestant in 2006 and before her win this year, was nominated three times for Most Outstanding Show at Melbourne Comedy Festival, and won the Amused Moose and Helpmann Awards for her brilliant and artfully crafted stand up comedy.
She was awarded the 2026 AACTA for Best Stand-Up Special for I'm As Surprised As You Are.
Celia's screen credits are innumerable. She won the Best Supporting Actress AACTA for her role as Dolly Faraday in the acclaimed ABC drama The Beautiful Lie, starred in the brilliant Laid, Logie Award-winning drama Offspring and in all five seasons of Working Dog's Utopia, for which she won yet another AACTA Award.
In 2016, Celia co-created, co-wrote and starred in the hit Tasmanian based comedy Rosehaven with Best Friend Luke McGregor for ABC TV. The show spanned five wonderful seasons and has been embraced by audiences all over the world.
She hosted the rebooted comedy improvisation series Thank God You're Here, which made a smashing comeback on Network 10 in 2023 and in 2024 appeared in the supernatural drama Playing Gracie Darling for P+/ Netflix. From February 1, 2026, she will be starring in the brand new ABC Comedy Dog Park.
