From Mumbai To Sydney, Sandy Evans And Sirens Big Band Present 'Bridge Of Dreams' Image

Bringing together Hindustani vocals and a jazz big band for the first time, this World Premiere promises to be a once in a lifetime music experience.

Led by award winning saxophonist Sandy Evans, the evening will showcase the sublime voice of internationally-renowned Indian singer Shubha Mudgal, the stellar energy and excitement of 17-piece super-collective Sirens Big Band; the sophisticated rhythms of one of India's finest tabla players, Aneesh Pradhan, performing alongside Australia's preeminent tabla player, Bobby Singh; and stunning solos from harmonium virtuoso, Sudhir Nayak.

"The collaborations between Australian and Indian musicians were composed and recorded over two years across two continents" said Evans.

Jazz and Indian music are diverse, complex, constantly evolving musical systems. The music in this collaboration will draw on many aspects from both systems, and influences from the Indian sphere include Hindustani, sacred, folk, Bollywood, fusion and Indipop genres.

The Bridge of Dreams album will be featured by Apple Music in India and around the world on November 7, during Diwali, one of India's most significant festivals. The album will have its Australia release on November 16 through Rufus Records.
