Broadway Returns To The Northern Beaches With IT TAKES TWO Image

Following its inaugural concert last year, Manly Musical Society's BROADWAY ON THE BEACHES concert series returns this August with It Takes Two.

Showcasing both musical theatre classics, as well as contemporary favourites, BROADWAY ON THE BEACHES aims to bring a taste of the Great White Way to Sydney's North. Tailored to musical lovers and novices a like, the concerts are fantastic fun for both performers and the audience.

This year the power of duets takes centre-stage with a concert dedicated to songs from a broad range of musicals, all of which feature two performers. Whether it is dynamic duos, rival divas, star-crossed couples or a show-stopping double-act It Takes Two celebrates duets and their ability to create tension, humour and romance.

It Takes Two will be helmed by director Matilda Dwyer and musical director Tim Collins. The duet theme for this year's concert originated with Dwyer, who pitched the theme for the concert, saying:

"I was drawn to duets as they are often a climatic point in a show - lovers declare their passions, enemies confront one another, secret feelings come to light. They are standout moments for two vocalists and we are blessed with an incredible cast that will do the set list justice."

That incredible cast is made up of eleven local Northern Beaches residents - Dylan Carlin, Alison Gracia, Hannah Gibbins, Lindford Gilmour, Aleksander Justin, Jessica Kok, Kristin Kok, Jess Linney, Lynda Sanders, Katya Triantis and Harrison Vaughan. Featuring a mix of returning and debut MMS performers, as well as the society's first mother-daughter duo, It Takes Two is a fantastic showcase of home-grown talent, which is sure to entertain and delight.

It Takes Two will take over The Star of the Sea in Manly on Saturday 25th August 2018 for two very special performances, at 2pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets are on-sale now from www.manlymusicalsociety.com
