Tony-Winner Jennifer Holliday To Perform at PrideFest, 6/26

Tony-Winner Jennifer Holliday is said to be performing on the opening day of PrideFest St. Louis 2010 which runs from June 26th to the 27th. Holliday earned her Tony in 1982 for her portrayal of Effie in the musical, DREAMGIRLS.

The theme of PrideFest this year is "Living Green, Better Together." The events leading up the weekend include Kick-Off Party on Friday, June 11 at The Mad Art Gallery with its theme, "Out in the Open" is a celebration of Pride and their efforts in going green. The rest of the entertainment line-up and the events for PrideFest 2010 will be announced on its website at www.pridestl.org.

Jennifer Holliday made her Broadway debute in YOUR ARMS TOO SHORT TO BOX WITH GOD at the age of 19. After winning her Tony at the age of 21 for DREAMGIRLS, Holliday performed in GREASE and CHICAGO. She has made a singing career, off Broadway, with eight albums and two Grammy awards. She guest starred in a couple television series before her re-occuring guest role as Lisa Knowles on "Ally McBeal."
