The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will host a group of Gold Star families during a performance of Tchaikovsky 4 on November 11, 2017 at 8:00pm. The families were given free tickets to the Veteran's Day concert.

The concert will begin with a special message for the Gold Star families from SLSO musician Jeffrey Strong. Prior to joining the SLSO, Strong spent eight years serving in the President's Own Marine Band. Strong is one of several SLSO musicians who served in the military. After the concert, the Gold Star families will attend a private reception in Powell Hall's Met Bar. SLSO musicians will also attend the reception to connect with the Gold Star families.

When U.S. military service members fall, their families are given a lapel pin that displays a Gold Star. The Gold Star symbolizes the sacrifice of the service member. For additional information about Gold Star families click here.
