The Presenters Dolan Welcome KAY LOVE to the Kranzberg 4/15-16
The Presenters Dolan welcome Kay Love and her cabaret show Confessions of a Pom Pom Reject 8pm on Friday, April 15 & Saturday April 16 at the Kranzberg Arts Center. Lennie Watts directs and Steven Ray Watkins is the music director for this presentation. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at www.licketytix.com, or by calling 314-725-4200 ext 10.
Can a high school girl who repeatedly fails in her attempts to make the pom pom squad ever find happiness?
Can you actually make a cabaret show from pop songs of the 70's and 80's?
You'll find out in this all new show from Kay Love, as she sings the pop that accompanied her pompomless life - Boston, the Little River Band, Journey, Irene Cara and more from that loud and proud era.
"These songs might not be part of the traditional Great American Songbook," says Ms. Love, "but we love them, and we are going to have a very fun show with them."
Kay is directed and abetted by that master of making pop art from pop (did you see his terrific Barry Manilow show?), St. Louis's own Lennie Watts, who comes in from New York to sing backup. Also in from NYC, Steven Ray Watkins music directs, accompanies and sings backup.
We will, we will, pop you.
