A progressive couple's proud liberal sensibilities are put to the test when their daughter arrives home bursting with excitement and an unexpected fiancé. Expectations and reality collide when questions of race, fear and cultural beliefs are staring them directly in the face. A new adaption of the award-winning film explores family and acceptance and asks which has the greater hold on our hearts.

The cast of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner at The Rep is Inga Ballard as Matilda "Tillie" Binks, Margaret Daly as Christina Drayton, Leo Finnie as John Prentice, Sr., Perri Gaffney (Bee-luther-hatchee) as Mary Prentice, Joneal Joplin (Noises Off) as Monsignor Ryan, Anderson Matthews (Other Desert Cities) as Matt Drayton, Richard Prioleau as John Prentice, Jr., Shannon Marie Sullivan as Joanna "Joey" Drayton and Elizabeth Ann Townsend (Good People) as Hilary St. George.

The Rep's production of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner is directed by Rep Associate Artistic Director Seth Gordon (A Kid Like Jake).

The creative staff also includes Kevin Depinet, set designer; Myrna Colley-Lee costume designer; Peter E. Sargent, lighting designer; Rusty Wandall, sound designer; Rich Cole, casting director; Champe Leary, stage manager; and Tony Dearing, assistant stage manager.

During the run of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, patrons will notice a large display in the lobby opposite the Patron Services window. The Rep has collaborated with Diversity Awareness Partnership (DAP) to display portraits of several St. Louis area mixed-race couples who give us first-hand accounts of the challenges and pre-conceptions they face on a daily basis.

The Rep is also partnering with the Saint Louis Art Museum to enhance the patron experience of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Participants can take a free one-hour drop in tour through SLAM's collection that features "Edgy Art" that challenges existing norms and provokes discussion. No reservations are required and more information can be found at http://www.slam.org.
