Playhouse at Westport Plaza Hosts 'Wizards of Improv' Beginning 6/11

By: Jun. 01, 2010

Throughout the summer, Bill Chott's Improv Trick will be performing at The Playhouse at Westport Plaza every Friday and Saturday, starting June 11th at 7:30pm. No two performances will be the same. Audiences are encouraged to come out early in the run and return often to make this a regular part of their summer fun.

For The Playhouse at Westport Plaza series, Bill Chott has assembled a cast of Improv Trick's strongest performers. The selected actors each bring a unique identity and skill set to the revue, while sharing Chott's commitment to family friendly comedy and respectful treatment of spontaneous, on-stage creation. Their success was recognized in 2009 when Bill Chott's Improv Trick received the RFT Mastermind Award.

Capitalizing on his innate mastery of both stage and classroom, and a contagious enthusiasm for the art of improv, Bill Chott has incubated an ensemble of St. Louis' brightest comedic minds at his Improv Trick. Since its inception in 2004, The Improv Trick has re-invigorated improvisation in St. Louis as both life-science and performance art.

Chott is known presently as Mr. Laritate from Disney's Emmy-winning Wizards of Waverly Place. He has written and performed regularly with the ensembles of Saturday Night Live, The Dana Carvey Show and The Second City, in addition to appearing in a gamut of popular films and TV shows over the past 15 years.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for 18 and younger. Advance purchase through Metrotix.
