New Line Theatre Off Line presents an off-beat, decidedly adult evening of cabaret, SHOOTIN' THE SH!T, for one night only, Saturday, January 31 at the Kranzberg Arts Center Cabaret in Grand Center, featuring everybody's favorite New Liners, Zachary Allen Farmer (Bonnie & Clyde, Next to Normal, Bukowsical, Hair, Night of the Living Dead, High Fidelity, Love Kills, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Todd Schaefer (Hands on a Hardbody, Bat Boy, Evita, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Rocky Horror Show, Sunday in the Park with George), and Jeffrey M. Wright (High Fidelity, Hands on a Hardbody, Next to Normal, Assassins, Grease, I Love My Wife), directed by New Line Theatre associate artistic director Mike Dowdy.

ABOUT OFF LINE AND NEW LINE THEATRE

In summer 2012, New Line Theatre, "the Bad Boy of Musical Theatre," created a new side identity called New Line Theatre Off Line, to be a framework for the New Line actors to explore other music and theatre projects, including New Line's own unique brand of adult cabaret, musical improv, and other kinds of performance opportunities, as well as master classes, workshops, talk-backs, and more, all headed up by New Line actor and associate artistic director Mike Dowdy.

New Line Theatre is a professional company dedicated to involving the people of the St. Louis region in the exploration and creation of daring, provocative, socially and politically relevant works of musical theatre. New Line Theatre was created in 1991 at the vanguard of a new wave of nonprofit musical theatre just starting to take hold across the country.

The company has given birth to several world premiere musicals over the years and has brought back to life many shows that did not do well in their original New York productions. Altogether, New Line has produced 72 musicals and 5 concerts of theatre songs since 1991. New Line Theatre was recently given its own entry in the latest edition of the prestigious Cambridge Guide to American Theatre. New Line continues its current mainstage season with the outrageous, very adult, JERRY SPRINGER THE OPERA, running March 5-28, and the classic satirical comedy THE THREEPENNY OPERA, May 28-June 20. New Line receives funding from the Regional Arts Commission and the Missouri Arts Council.
