Greenwood is an original musical comedy about recapturing the vitality of lost youth. Following the journey of a group of teenagers who meet at summer camp, Greenwood explores the many choices of youth and young adulthood and the joys and pains of discovering and staying true to who you truly are. The title comes from the name of the summer camp where the protagonists first met-a very special place whose magic is not of the supernatural variety, but, rather, comes from the power of acceptance, creative freedom, and love. Greenwood enjoyed an 8 performance run at the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2011. GCPA is thrilled to work with the Greenwood team to move it into its next phase!

Greenwood features Book, Music, and Lyrics by Adam LeBow and Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter Tor Hyams. Hyams has written and performed his own material, produced world-class recording artists and composed dozens of scores for both film and television including productions for Endemol USA, FOX and Warner. His live show, LIFE. Who Knew? starring Broadway singer Lisa Rothauser, has played to sold-out audiences across the country. LeBow received his BA in Theater & Film from Yale, and then embarked on a career that took him from New York to San Francisco, Michigan, Kyoto, Seattle, Edinburgh and Los Angeles. His theatrical endeavors have ranged from the commercial (Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding) to the avant-garde (his own The Mesozoans: God•••Tracks in Seattle, WA and Cosmic Itch in Kyoto, Japan), and from the sublime (Sweeney Todd) to the ridiculous (Star Drek: The Musical).

Actors cast in Greenwood will work directly with Tor Hyams, Adam LeBow and other Greenwood team members to develop the story towards a staged reading on Sunday, September 25th, 2016. The Greenwood team will also hold two Master Classes for Grades 6th-12th on Sunday, September 18th: Script Analysis with Adam LeBow and Casting Call with Tor Hyams.

Ticketing information for the Staged Reading is available at www.gcpastl.org/greenwood.
