Ken Page Talks SUBLIME INTIMACY at Kranzberg Arts Center

Max & Louie Productions in association with Ken Page, announces the casting of the World Premiere production of Ken Page's Sublime Intimacy. The second show of Max & Louie's two-show season will run from December 4th through 20th at the Kranzberg Arts Center. Sublime Intimacy is a remembered tale of five friends, whose lives were touched and changed forever by their love of the dancer and the dance. Written and directed by Page, Sublime Intimacy is a story that will be told through visual art and dance. St. Louis musician Henry Palkes has composed an original suite of music, which will underscore the play.

Page recently sat down to discuss the show, saying, "There's a point in the play where one of the characters says 'It's like that captain of the football team that you fell in love with or that boy whose green eyes you still see when you close yours...you know the one.' It's that thing, that's what it's based on."

Heading the roster as The Dancer is Alfredo Sullivan, who has worked with Dance Theatre of Harlem, as well as Emery LeCrone & Dancers, Intermezzo Dance Company, Allison Cook Beatty Dance and other premier New York dance troupes.

Bethany Barr (Katharine Reilly/Sharon/Woman with Flowers) is a St. Louis actress, making her Max & Louie debut. She has also performed with Upstream Theatre, The Black Rep and the Orquesta Sinfonica de al Ciudad de Asuncion, Paraguay.

John Flack (Don Taylor/Fr.Joe) is making his Max & Louie debut, but is well-known to St. Louis audiences. He has performed at The Muny, The New Jewish Theatre, The Black Rep and Shakespeare Festival St. Louis. He also appeared in Ken Page's Café Chanson.

J. Samuel Davis (Tim Pace/VO Film Director), another Max & Louie newcomer, has a long performance history in the Midwest, and began his career at The Black Rep. Regionally he has worked in Atlanta, Kansas City and Indiana, and also performed in Café Chanson.

Luke Steingruby (Gene Donovan/Paul Newman/Sales Clerk) while new to Max & Louie, Luke has recently performed with Stray Dog, New Line, Mustard Seed and New Jewish Theatres.

Reginald Pierre (Bill Ross/Fr.Jim/Larry Vickers) is making his Max & Louie debut. He was recently in Stick Fly (Black Rep), Stairs to the Roof (Sudden View Productions) and Antony and Cleopatra (Shakespeare Festival St. Louis).

"We're thrilled to be working with such a talented cast, all of them new to Max & Louie's audience," said Stellie Siteman, artistic director. "This show is exciting in so many ways, not the least of which is watching a rich, new work of art come to life through the efforts of these marvelous actors."
