[insert name here] Theatre Project, in association with Stray Dog Theatre) presents Speech and Debate by Stephen Karam. Final performance of the show is slated for February 20, 2010.
What do three Salem, Oregon teenagers - frumpy girl, nerdy guy, and openly-gay guy - have in common? Not much, or so it would seem on the surface, but each has fierce ulterior motives and a sex scandal that links them. These young outsiders are drawn together via the internet, using email and blogs to further their ambitions. From writing a salacious expose in the newspaper to forming a speech and debate team, they will stop at nothing to push their own agendas. This dark comedy includes hilarious musical interludes.
