Echo Theatre Company presents the regional premiere of God's Ear by Jenny Schwartz from July 30-August 15. The production will be held in Echo's performance venue, Theatre 134, in the ArtSpace at Crestwood Court. The theater is located in the Crestwood Court shopping center at the corner of Watson and Sappington Roads.

When a couple's son drowns, their marriage begins to dissolve under the weight of grief that follows his death. As they grow farther and farther apart, their daughter is emotionally abandoned. Can the Tooth Fairy, a life-size G.I. Joe doll and a cross-dressing flight attendant help them discover solace? God's Ear is an unfolding of the human heart told through a poignant and hilarious look at the language we use when we cannot bear to speak.

Jenny Schwartz is a New York-based playwright and a graduate of Juilliard, where she received a fellowship in the Lila Acheson Wallace Playwriting Program. God's Ear was premiered by New Georges under the direction of Anne Kauffman, was published by Faber & Faber, and was a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Award. Ms. Schwartz is an Associate Artist with The Civilians and a member of New Dramatists.

God's Ear will be directed by Echo's Artistic Director Eric Little, with original music composed by Victoria Meyer, lighting design by Maureen Hanratty and costume design by Sarah Woodworth. The cast of God's Ear features Michelle Hand as Mel, Martin Fox as Ted, 12-year old Cameron Kopsky as Lanie, Donna Weinsting as the Tooth Fairy, Justin Ivan Brown as the Flight Attendant and G.I. Joe, Kelly Schnider as Lenora, and Tom Kopp as Guy.
