Dramatic License Productions Presents MASS APPEAL, 5/26-6/12

By:

How much truth is too much? When dealing with the masses, is it better to entertain or enlighten? Should people hear what they want or need to hear? How do we find meaningful relationships in such a diverse world? These are just a few of the issues addressed with compassion and lots of humor in Bill C. Davis' comedy/drama Mass Appeal, presented by Dramatic License Productions (DLP), the 501(c)(3) non-profit, professional theatre and cabaret production company in Chesterfield Mall, May 26-June 12.

Directed by Fontbonne University theatre professor and Kevin Kline Award winner, Deanna Jent, the Tony Award-nominated play is the story of entertaining priest Tim Farley (Alan Knoll*) assigned to mentor a rebellious priest-in-training (Dylan Duke.) Through laughter and tears they search for truth and friendship in a diverse and unforgiving world.

New York Magazine says, "Don't think you have to be Catholic, or even religious, to enjoy the mutually beneficial sparring between two very worthy, and very human, antagonists." With the screenplay also written by Bill C. Davis, Mass Appeal was made into a 1984 movie starring Jack Lemmon and Zeljko Ivanek.

Dramatic License Productions presents Mass Appeal Thurs.-Sat. at 8 p.m. and Sun. at 2 p.m., May 26-June 12, at Dramatic License Theatre in ARTropolis arts district at Chesterfield Mall (upper level mall entrance next to Houlihan's Restaurant.)

**Each Friday performance includes a post-show discussion with the cast and Fr. Tom Santen, Pastor, St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Ticket prices are $25/adults, $22/students & seniors (60+) and $18/groups (10+) with advanced purchase. Opening night special (Thurs., Mar. 26) all tickets are $18. Visit www.DramaticLicenseProductions.org or call 636.220.7012 for reservations.
