COCA Exhibit BUILDING COMMUNITY Closes 7/16

COCA (Center of Creative Arts) will host a reception and Artists' Talk Friday, May 14 at 6pm for their exhibit Building Community. Artist and COCA instructor John Parker curates an exhibit featuring the work of COCA faculty members in a wide range of visual arts forms including painting, illustration, collage, sculpture, photography and digital media. Artists include Ilene Berman, Abigail Birhanu, Chris Martinez, Sara Moss, Maria Ojascastro, Katrina Shannon, and Stephanie Summerlin.
The exhibit runs through July 16.

Additional activities at COCO:
Ballet Intensive with Butler's Michelle Jarvis begins June 7.  COCA offers all dancers, with a minimum of two years of pointe training, the opportunity to study intensively with Butler University's dance department chair Michelle Jarvis. The two-week program will focus on the standard ballet curriculum, including technique classes, pointe, variations, men's class and pas de deux.  Additional classes will include modern, character and repertoire.

Jarvis is a former company member for Dance Kaleidoscope and has performed with the Indianapolis Ballet Theatre. She has been guest instructor at the Hartford School of Ballet, the American College Dance Festival, Springfield Ballet, Young Audiences of Indiana, Summer Arts Institute and Ballet Arkansas.  $450 ($405 COCA members) plus supply fee.

COCA Summer Arts Classes
June 7-August 21
Registration is now open for weekly classes this summer for children, teens and adults. Summer is a great time to try something new or to sharpen a skill you developed during the year. COCA classes meet primarily in the late afternoons, Monday and Wednesday evenings, and all day on Saturday. Read about COCA classes -from Hip Tots to Argentine Tango!
