Electric City Playhouse Holds Auditions For PROFESSIONAL SKEPTICISM 8/31
The Electric City Playhouse is in need of three men ages 25-35, one preferably African-American, and one woman ages 25-30, for the upcoming play of Professional Skepticism. Rehearsals start November 1, with shows running Thursday thru Sunday, December 3-12.
This comedy, both written and directed by the Electric City Playhouse Resident Playwright, Jim Rasheed, centers around four auditors at a CPA firm. An audit scandal threatens to change these characters into headline-makers. This tale of office intrigue is funny, intense, and timely. It includes a variety of office personalities, including a sultry party girl.
The dialogue is sharp, witty and funny. It won the 2000-2001 Harold and Mimi Steinberg Prize for Best Original Play. It was published in "New Playwrights: The Best Plays Of 2002" and won critical acclaim for its run at Center Stage in Greenville. Cold reading auditions are open to the public and start at 6PM both Sunday, August 29 and Tuesday, August 31.
