Directed by Anderson Claudir, the musical adaptation of Aluisio Azevedo's O Cortico, a classic work of Brazilian naturalist literature, the protagonism is reversed The voice now comes from Bertoleza: a woman, black and enslaved who has a relationship with Joao Romao, an ambitious and opportunist Portuguese. Starring Lu Campos, the show also features the award-winning Eduardo Silva and opens at SESC Belenzinho, in February.

Ian Rickson will direct the European premiere of Jez Butterworth's Parlour Song which runs at the Almeida from 19 March - 9 May 2009 with press night on 26 March. Designs are by Jeremy Herbert, with lighting by Peter Mumford, sound by Paul Groothuis and music by Stephen Warbeck. Casting for Parlour Song will be announced shortly. Francesca Annis, Lisa Dillon, Chris O'Dowd, Dominic Rowan and Catherine Tate are to star in the West End premiere of David Eldridge's Under The Blue Sky which will open at the Duke of York's Theatre on 25 July, with previews from 15 July, and is currently booking until 20 September 2008. Directed by Anna Mackmin, Under The Blue Sky is designed by Lez Brotherston with lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Paul Arditti, and is produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions and Robert G. Bartner. Final casting will be announced shortly.
