30 years on from Stephen Daldry’s National Theatre debut, an inspector has called in Glasgow. Thankfully, we are delighted he is here to present this timeless theatrical masterpiece.

Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, begins Season XIII: Celebrating the Extraordinary with Eugène Ionesco’s The Chairs. Directed by Quintessence’s Artistic Director Alexander Burns, The Chairs, full of absurdist philosophy, witty wordplay and slapstick comedy runs through October 23. Though this show at Chicago’s Cadillac Palace brings to life time-honored classics from a sweeping soundtrack such as I Could Have Danced All Night and On the Street Where You Live, its three-hour runtime and dialogue-heavy script can make it a challenging watch for some viewers.

Sondheim's macabre musical Sweeney Todd, arrives in Brazil. The show opened on March in Sao Paulo for a short season and takes place on the 033 Rooftop of Teatro Santander. With direction by Ze Henrique de Paula, the Brazilian production stars Rodrigo Lombardi (Sweeney), Andrezza Massei (Mrs. Lovett), and Mateus Ribeiro (Tobias Ragg).

AN INSPECTOR CALLS has been described in the Washington Post as, 'an episode of 'The Twilight Zone' wrapped in an Agatha Christie mystery,' and after seeing the show at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, I must say that about sums up the play for me. Running at almost two hours without an intermission, at first it seemed to be just a bunch of talking heads yelling loudly with strong British accents – that is until the end when a Rod Serling-like phone call delivers a twist that sets the whole thing into the realm of “what just really happened?”

What does J.B. Priestley's An Inspector Calls, a play set in England in 1912, have to say to a modern-day American audience? A lot. Remy Bumppo will present this Tony and Olivier Award-winning masterpiece as the second production of its 17th season. An Inspector Calls plays almost constantly in England, but this is a rare opportunity to see it on an American professional stage. Press Opening is Monday, December 9, at 7:00 pm. But the week before the show, cast members from the production of Titanic, the Musical took part in the opening ceremonies for the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The cast performed the opening number from the show which introduces many of the people who were on the ill-fated voyage of the Titanic and ends with the stirring anthem 'Godspeed, Titanic.'
