In the hands of The Studio Theatre's Artistic Director David Muse and STC's Artistic Director Michael Kahn, this pairing of Shakespearean and German epics challenges the concept of control among military and government institutions. Alan Bennett is one of Britain's most celebrated playwrights, and the much anticipated People is the sixth of his plays to have its premiere at the National Theatre. Following its original run at the National Theatre, The History Boys transferred to Broadway, winning the Tony Award for Best Play in 2006, and toured internationally before being turned into a film, again directed by Nicholas Hytner and with a cast including Frances de la Tour.

The 2013-2014 Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre season was announced today by CTG Artistic Director Michael Ritchie.

Working with guest curator Andrew Horwitz, Immediate Medium has selected nine makers of dance, theater, performance, music and media to join them in the largely abandoned offices of the James A. Farley Post Office in Midtown Manhattan.

Performance Space 122 (PS122) and the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), New York's premiere French cultural center, present the New York premiere of Habit, from David Levine, as part of the 2012 Crossing the Line festival. Habit is a durational performance installation that features three actors performing a 90-minute drama on a continuous loop for eight hours a day. Using a commissioned script by playwright Jason Grote, Habit takes place within a four-walled, fully-furnished and functional American ranch house designed by Marsha Ginsberg and built inside a raw, unused space in the Essex Street Market on the Lower East Side.

Brian Friel's adaptation of Ibsen's seminal work, Hedda Gabler, will open at The Old Vic tonight, 12 September. Directed by Anna Mackmin, this major new production will star Olivier award-winning actress Sheridan Smith in the title role with Darrell D'Silva as Judge Brack, Buffy Davis as Bertha, Daniel Lapaine as Eilert Loevborg, Anne Reid as Juliana Tesman, Adrian Scarborough as George Tesman, and Fenella Woolgar as Thea Elvsted.

Solo performer Arlene Malinowski completes her trilogy with All Kinds of Crazy playing August 9 - 18, 2012 at 16th Street Theater, 6420 16th Street in Berwyn, with a press opening of Thursday, August 9 at 7:30 PM. The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), New York's premiere French cultural center, today announces the full program for Crossing the Line 2012, the sixth annual edition of its highly acclaimed fall festival presenting interdisciplinary works and performances by artists from around the world. Crossing the Line takes place this year from September 14-October 14 in venues throughout New York City. Nespresso is the Presenting Sponsor of Crossing the Line 2012. Tickets go on sale August 1.
