When Big Band favorites like In The Mood, La Vie En Rose and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy are belted out by Holly Larocque and the Mark Ferguson Orchestra, people can't help but to swing! The renowned Canadian singer and Ferguson's 13-piece orchestra will be 'live, on air' in a booming, authentically styled Big Band Broadcast at the Spencer Theater at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 8, performing a vast repertoire of upbeat tempos from the late 1930's and 1940's. Adorned with period-rich glamour, panache, humor, blazing solos and delightful choreography - just as in the live broadcasts from starlit ballrooms of days gone by - the BBB is a sentimental journey that beckons folks to get up and dance! (The orchestra pit will be transformed into an actual dance floor).

Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to present the award-winning worldwide smash-hit musical, Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Produced by NETworks Presentations, this elaborate theatrical production will come to life on stage at the Cadillac Palace Theatre March 23 - April 4, 2010. Tickets go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010.

South Coast Repertory's 13th annual Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF) will shine the spotlight on seven new plays written by America's finest writers, including five who will be familiar to SCR audiences and two who are making their SCR debuts. This year's festival, which takes place April 23-25, will feature fully-produced world premieres by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Julia Cho and staged readings of brand-new works by Amy Freed, Itamar Moses, Bathsheba Doran, Sofia Alvarez and David West Read.

Fences, August Wilson's powerful story of a fractured African-American family in 1950s Pittsburgh, will play its final show on February 21.

Northrop Dance at the University of Minnesota and the Walker Art Center present the Midwest debut of British sensation Akram Khan Company performing bahok at 8 pm Wednesday, March 3, at Northrop. The contemporary work embodies the many different styles of Khan's multinational company, fusing traditional South Asian dance with modern movement.

'American Idol' made its way back to the location of its season one winner, visiting the city of Dallas and home of pop superstar Kelly Clarkson. The guest judges joining 'Idol' in the state of Texas were teen heartthrob Joe Jonas and television and Broadway star and Tony Award host Neil Patrick Harris. Dallas brought some excellent singers into the mix and some will definitely make a splash in Hollywood.
