Jason Tramm to Conduct Morris Choral Society In 'Candles And Carrols'

Jason C. Tramm will conduct the Morris Choral Society as it opens its 2016-17 season with a holiday themed concert at the Bickford Theater, Morristown, New Jersey on December 10 and 11.th Candles and Carrols will feature works by Caldwell and Ivory, Leavitt, Praetorius, Respighi and Whitacre celebrating over three centuries of inspiring and beloved holiday choral music, essentially chronicling the existence of the Morristown settlement dating back to 1715.

The Ruth Page Civic Ballet is proud to present its annual production of The Nutcracker, choreographed by Ruth Page andco-directed by Victor Alexander and Dolores Lipinski Long. This production is performed at Northeastern Illinois University, 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Avenue in Chicago, Today, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4 at 1 and 5 p.m. Tickets for the performance are $25 for general admission, $20 for seniors and children under the age of 12 years and $10 for NEIU students, faculty and staff, one ticket per I.D. card. Also available is "Tea with Clara," a delightful tea party which patrons can enjoy with their favorite The Nutcracker characters from 3:15 - 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. Tickets for "Tea with Clara" include admission to the tea party and either 1 or 5 p.m. performance, and are $85 for adults and $50 for children under the age of 12 years. Performance tickets and "Tea with Clara" tickets are now on sale and may be purchased at www.ruthpage.org.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and New Jersey Performing Arts Center announce an additional performance of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in Concert on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 7 pm at NJPAC in Newark. Limited tickets are still available for the previously announced March 11 matinee at 2 pm. The NJSO will perform, to picture, every note from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Audiences will be able to relive the magic of the film in high-definition while hearing the orchestra perform Oscar winner John Williams' unforgettable score.

In anticipation of its 44th Season, the Morris Choral Society announces the appointment of noted conductor Jason C. Tramm as Music Director. Board President Vincent P. Marchese's announcement came at the conclusion of a several month search. With the appointment, Tramm becomes the third individual in forty years to hold the position of Music Director following Morris Choral Society (MCS) founder and Music Director Wayne Walters retirement in 2015 and Matthew Lee's departure from the podium at the end of last season.
