In honor of the centenary of Harold Chapin's heroic death on the battlefield in 1915, Mint Theater (Jonathan Bank, Producing Artistic Director; Jen Soloway, Managing Director) is proud to present The New Morality, beginning performances August 23rd. This limited Off-Broadway engagement, directed by Jonathan Bank, will continue through October 11th only. Opening Night is set for Monday September 21st (7pm) at the Mint Theater, 311 West 43rd Street. Cast and design team will be announced shortly.

Houston Family Arts Center (HFAC) announces its production of THE SECRET GARDEN, withbook and lyrics by Marsha Norman, music by Lucy Simon, based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and presented in a special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. The musical will run Feb. 6 to March 1 on the Houston Family Arts Center Garza Mainstage.

Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University will offer an interactive tour of the museum specifically geared for children ages 7 - 12 throughout the summer. In A Child's View of History, offered Tuesdays and Thursdays now through August 28 (11 a.m., 1 p.m. & 3 p.m.), young people will step back in time and see the museum through the eyes of its youngest former occupants: the children who resided at Liberty Hall over the past 240 years. Each room will feature a variety of artifacts children are welcome to touch, and tours will also include outdoor games, activities and light refreshments. Admission is $8 per child, and $10 per adult.

DC Moore Gallery is pleased to present Romare Bearden: Insight and Innovation, an exhibition that presents some of the finest examples of Bearden's work in collage, watercolor, and oil, highlighting his mastery of multiple artistic techniques and mediums. While probably best known for his powerful collages, Bearden also created modernist tempera paintings, lyrical abstractions, photographic enlargements that he called Projections, lush watercolors, and jazz and blues monotypes.

Hart Jr., in association with the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.), have announced that the box office will open on Thursday, August 8th for the 17-week limited engagement of the critically-acclaimed revival of The Glass Menagerie at the Booth Theatre (222 W 45th Street) with performances beginning Thursday, September 5, 2013, and an opening night set for Thursday, September 26th. Tickets are now on sale for The Secret Garden, Minnetonka High School's 10th annual fall musical under the Artistic Direction of Kent Knutson. It won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award for fiction; it went on to be adapted into a film by Steven Spielberg. As a Broadway production-originally produced by Oprah Winfrey and Quincy Jones- the musical ran for two years and was nominated for 11 Tony Awards.
The national tour of that Broadway play, "The Color Purple" comes to Three Stages at Folsom College for three performances next month.
