The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) is proud to announce that the 28th Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The Awards ceremony will include the presentation of 21 awards to emerging artists in theater, dance and film as well as the Prince Rainier III Award to be presented to Denzel and Pauletta Washington and the Princess Grace Statue Award to be presented to Anna D. Shapiro. The Award recipients hail from cities and states across America and will travel to New York City to receive their honor at the glamorous black tie ceremony. The 28th Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala will take place in the presence of Her Royal Highness Caroline Princess of Hanover. The evening will be co-chaired by Bonnie Pfeifer Evans. On its tenth anniversary, the Philippine Opera Company ('La Boheme', 'Harana') brings back its critically acclaimed production of Terrence McNally's 1996 Tony award-winning play 'Master Class', starring Philippine cinema icon Ms. Gil in the role of the opera world's grand dame Maria Callas (1923-1977). Presented in a master class format, the straight play explores what could have transpired inside the opera's classroom with Callas at the Juilliard 1971-72, at the time when the dramatic soprano had already lost her voice.

It is with deep regret and sadness that the Los Angeles Philharmonic must announce the passing of our beloved friend and colleague Ernest Fleischmann. Ernest died surrounded by his family last evening, Sunday June 13, in his Los Angeles home after a long illness at the age of 85.
