FOREVER PLAID: PLAID TIDINGS is a holiday sequel to the 1990 Off-Broadway show, FOREVER PLAID, written by Stuart Ross. I have not seen the original show, but can now promise that it is totally unnecessary to have seen the original in order to enjoy the heaven out of the sequel. It is an uncanny and unsuspectingly hilarious holiday musical. The underlying plot is quite bizarre, but the script is so well written that no one seemed to care. The sequel continues from the original storyline, where a clean-cut, male quartet has been sent back to earth (following an unfortunate bus accident with a group of Catholic schoolgirls); this time to bring harmony and good cheer to an inharmonious planet.
FOREVER PLAID, a musical revue written by Stuart Ross in 1990 has been performed internationally. The show is about those close-harmony groups like The Four Aces and The Four Freshmen that were popular during the 50s. These groups personified the clean-cut genre. The Plaids are a quartet of high-school friends with dreams of recording an album who come to their untimely end in a collision with a bus filled with Catholic schoolgirls on their way to see the Beatles' American debut on The Ed Sullivan Show. The Plaids have been given a final chance from the afterlife for musical glory.

GHOST: THE MUSICAL is at The Media Theatre during the month of March. Based on the extremely popular film from 1990 which had fans swooning over Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore (and an Oscar winning performance from Whoopi Goldberg), it's as romantic as a musical can be.
