2016 MFA Playwrights' Workshop to Develop Eight New Works at the Kennedy Center

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, is pleased to co-present the 11th annual MFA Playwright's Workshop (MFAPW) in association with the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival and Stanford University's National Center for New Plays.
Playwrights Realm to Present Sarah DeLappe's THE WOLVES

Led by Founding Artistic Director Katherine Kovner and Producing Director Roberta Pereira, The Playwrights Realm will kick off its 2016-17 10th anniversary season with the world premiere of Sarah Delappe's The Wolves. Directed by Lila Neugebauer and featuring a company of ten female actors, DeLappe's award-winning debut play will be presented at The Realm's new home for the season The Duke on 42nd Street, August 29-September 24, 2016.
Marin Theatre Company Sets 2016-17 Family Series

This fall, Marin Theatre Company unleashes their 2016-17 Family Series season with tales of growing up, friendship, and self discovery. Kicking off its second Family Series Season of Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) plays is writer and performer Jim Napolitano with his original shadow puppet story, Father Goose's Tales. Next up are three fully self-produced TYA productions: an adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's engrossing The Jungle Book by Greg Banks, Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale, The Snow Queen, adapted by Mike Kenny, and Brendan Murray's endearing rendition of Hare and Tortoise.

Two of Roald Dahl's most popular novels, James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, were written while Roald Dahl lived in the U.S. and were inspired by American culture-finding success here first before going on to become global bestsellers.

Rehearsals are underway for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's Chicago premiere production of Constellations, the 80-minute, award-winning hit by British playwright Nick Payne. Directed here by prolific Chicago director and Steppenwolf artistic producer Jonathan Berry, Constellations premiered at the Royal Court in London to rave reviews before transferring to the West End and Broadway. The romantic two-hander stars ensemble member Jon Michael Hill as Roland (CBS-TV's Elementary, Steppenwolf's Superior Donuts) and Jessie Fisher as Marianne (Once on Broadway, Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Othello). DM Playhouse to Present THE BOY WHO CRIED WOLF, 5/13

This story is part of the 2015-2016 season of Friday Funday, a creative participatory story theatre program for children ages 4-6.
