Featuring items that highlight Motown's inimitable founder Berry Gordy and the institution's most beloved musical acts, the multi-media showcase chronicles one of the most significant record labels in American music history. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) today announced its programs for the 2014-15 concert season, conductor Jacques Lacombe's fifth year as the Orchestra's Music Director. Fulfilling its mission as a statewide orchestra, the NJSO brings subscription programs to venues in Newark, New Brunswick, Princeton, Morristown, Red Bank and Englewood, with 14 weeks of subscription classical programs, four pops programs and three family concerts, as well as several special concerts.

Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced its stellar and far-ranging new 2014-2015 Thrivent Financial Broadway on Hennepin season, featuring Broadway's hottest Tony Award-winning shows, five Minnesota premieres and many classic favorites. Artist Morgan James will perform during 2014 Winter Jazzfest on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 7:45 p.m. at Zinc Bar in Greenwich Village. Guests will hear her smoky, soulful renditions of songs from her debut album with Epic Records, 'Morgan James Live: A Celebration of Nina Simone.' The CD offers a selection of songs that show off James' extraordinary voice and her exquisite gift for merging soul, jazz and R&B in a fresh and thrilling new way.
