Today the Irish nation and the world theatre community comes to terms with the sad passing of one of Ireland's brilliant voices, the extraordinary playwright Tom Murphy.

Brimming with music, love and longing, Shakespeare's enchanting play transports audiences to a world of comedic mayhem, mistaken identity and unrequited passion. This co-production with the Resident Ensemble Players comes to Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Pl, Brooklyn), May 10-27.

 A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, is bringing back its smash hit production of MICHAEL FRAYN's hilarious NOISES OFF from now until Saturday, May 26, 2018, reviving a critical and audience favorite for all to enjoy. Two performances on Saturday, May 26 were just added due to popular demand.

Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres Robert Hastie today announced casting for three productions in his inaugural season - Of Kith and Kin, Desire Under the Elms and Uncle Vanya.

The revival of Hello, Dolly opens tonight on Broadway, starring Bette Midler and featuring a star-studded cast. The Broadway revival of Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman's masterpiece Hello, Dolly! is directed by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle. This May, in celebration of Frank Lloyd Wright's 150th anniversary, UNESCO World Heritage List-nominated Hollyhock House presents a J.U.S.T. Toys Production in association withCircle X Theatre Co. of a very unique immersive event, FEFU AND HER FRIENDS, written by Maria Irene Fornes, with choreography by Zsofia Nemes, musical composition by Daniel Szabo and directed by Kate Jopson. FEFU AND HER FREIENDS is the first play EVER to be performed at the iconic house, which is located in the heart of Barnsdall Art Park, a vibrant, artistic and recreational destination. ShawChicago presents Shakespeare's People, a collection of the Bard's most coveted words, and the American premiere of James Barrie's lost epic, Shakespeare's Legacy. It premiered 100 years ago, was lost, and later uncovered at the University of Chicago library. This one-night performance is part of the Shakespeare 400 celebration in Chicago. Classic Stage Company has announced that Mirirai Sithole is this year's recipient of the Rosemarie Tichler Fund grant. The Fund was established in 2010 with the mission to assist young actors who have appeared at CSC and who have recently made the transition from their training into the profession. The $3,000 grant can be used by the young artist to continue training or to offset loans they may have incurred while studying their craft. With the grant, CSC hopes to make a difference in the lives of young actors at the start of their careers as well as to heighten awareness in the community to the specific needs of actors. 

Academy Award nominee and soon-to-be Broadway lead Diane Lane has committed $20,000 towards a four-year, $5,000 annual grant for NYC-based female educators vested in music in honor of composer Elizabeth Swados.
