American Theater Company (ATC) opens its 26th season with David Mamet's Oleanna and Speed-the-Plow in repertory for the first time ever. The productions are directed by Steppenwolf ensemble member Rick Snyder and will run at American Theater Company, 1909 W Byron St, Chicago. Press opening for Speed-the-Plow and Oleanna is Monday, September 20 at 6:00PM and 9:00PM, respectively.

Profiles Theatre opens its 20th Anniversary Season with the acclaimed comedy-drama Men of Tortuga by Jason Wells, directed by Steppenwolf ensemble member Rick Snyder. The production runs October 9-December 7, 2008, at Profiles Theatre, 4147 N. Broadway. Men of Tortuga will play for a limited engagement at Profiles through December 7, 2008 only and will not extend.

Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans announce the Chicago Premiere of Mauritius by Theresa Rebeck, directed by Rick Snyder. The production, featuring Anne Adams, Lance Baker, Gary Houston, Dan Kuhlman and Suzanne Lang runs February 25- April 5, 2009 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. The press performance is Thursday, March 5, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. The stakes are high when half-sisters inherit a book of rare stamps that may include the 'crown jewel' of the stamp-collecting world. The battle for possession takes a dangerous turn when three rival collectors enter the sisters' world, willing to go to any lengths to stake their claim on the find. Named one of Time Magazine's 'Top Ten Plays of 2007,' Mauritius is a gripping blend of sharp comedy and heart-pounding drama that combines the best aspects of Hitchcock, Chandler and Mamet. Casting has been announced for Polar Bears; David Leveaux has been pronounced director of Simon Gray's The Late Middle Class; von Kleist's The Prince of Homburg has been added to the season; new events in celebration of Sondheim's 80th birthday - in addition to the production of Passion - have been revealed; and Michael Grandage has been confirmed to direct Derek Jacobi in King Lear.
