Royal Albert Hall Introduces Sunday Classical Concerts, Through 6/4

Following the re-opening of the Elgar Room at the end of 2009 and the continued success of the ignite series, the Royal Albert Hall have collaborated with their neighbours at the Royal College of Music to offer an exciting new series of concerts. Launching at the beginning of April, these Classical Coffee Mornings give audiences the chance to listen to outstanding talent from the College as their students give Sunday morning classical recitals in the Hall's very own Elgar Room. With an inclusive offer that includes a hot drink and a pastry, this is the perfect opportunity to relax on a Sunday morning whilst listening to some truly exceptional musicians. Commencing on Sunday 4 April with the vocal and piano duo Paula Sides & Kumi Matsuo, this new series continues on select Sundays until June.

Children's Theatre of Charlotte presents 'Goodnight Moon', an adaptation of Margaret Wise Brown's beloved bedtime classic, in the McColl Family Theatre at ImaginOn from April 16-May 9. Chad Henry's charming musical tells the story of young Bunny, who, despite the fact that it is past his bedtime, wants to stay awake and enjoy all the wonders that his imagination has to offer.

Japan Society stimulates cultural appetites and satisfies even the most adventurous palates this spring with j-CATION: Taste Japan, a day-long open house festival devoted to Japanese food. On Saturday, April 10, from 1 pm-1 am, this inaugural event celebrates food through a host of delectable offerings - both cultural and culinary - allowing visitors to take a vacation to Japan without ever leaving the city. Exemplifying everything Japan Society has to offer, j-CATION fills the Society's theater, gallery, lounge and classrooms with an array of activities including how-to sessions, a wide selection of Japanese snacks and drinks, artistic and educational workshops, live music, a film screening, contests, and more. Houston Ballet to Close Production of AMERICAN AT HEART, 3/21

Houston Ballet will close its current production, American at Heart, featuring two ballets that are significant to the history American dance (George Balanchine's Apollo and Jerome Robbins's Fancy Free) and one work inspired by American popular culture and created specifically for an American company (Christopher Bruce's Hush, choreographed for Houston Ballet in 2006). The production will close March 21st.
