Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire is set against the sexy backdrop of New Orleans' gritty French Quarter. A Streetcar Named Desire tells the tale of former school teacher and socialite Blanche DuBois, as she's forced to move in with her sister Stella and her animalistic husband Stanley. But the fragile, Blanche quickly gets a gritty life lesson in the seamy, steamy underbelly of 1950's New Orleans.
Yale Repertory Theatre, in a co-production with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, presents the world premiere of The House that will not Stand by Marcus Gardley, directed by Patricia McGregor. The House that will not Stand will be performed at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street) April 18-May 10. Opening Night is Thursday, April 24.

The award, established in 1988, recognizes an individual or institution that has made outstanding contributions to American theater while also holding an exemplary record in hiring or promoting ethnic minorities, female actors, senior actors and actors with disabilities. Once again, Profiles Artistic Director Darrell W. Cox returns to direct a cast of 34 with Dillon joining the cast as the beleaguered cab driver and ensemble member Eric Burgher assistant directing.
