The American Theatre Wing has announced its newest episode of the popular 'Working in the Theater' series: 'Crafting Worlds: Theatrical Design.' The episode features scenic designer David Gallo, sound designer John Gromada, costume designer Susan Hilferty and lighting designer Peter Kaczorowski. The program, moderated by Variety theater reporter Gordon Cox, will air on CUNY TV beginning Sunday, April 12, at 5:00 pm.

Playwrights Horizons, under the leadership of Artistic Director Tim Sanford and Managing Director Leslie Marcus, has announced additional casting and complete details for the World Premiere of INKED BABY, a new play by 2007 Susan Smith Blackburn nominee Christina Anderson in her Off-Broadway playwriting debut.

Ruined, rendered with Nottage's trademark humanity, clarity and surprising humor, gives a glimpse of a country that has suffered immeasurable losses since the beginning of this war that has raged for more than a decade.
Goodman Theatre opens its "Strong Women, Strong Voices" Owen Theatre Series with the world premiere of Lynn Nottage's Ruined, directed by Kate Whoriskey and co-produced with Manhattan Theatre Club. Commissioned by the Goodman and first seen in the 2007 New Stages Series, Ruined was developed through Nottage and Whoriskey's pilgrimage to Uganda-where countless interviews and interactions resulted in a portrait of the lives of the women and girls caught in the devastating armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Leading the Goodman's cast in the role of Mama Nadi is Saidah Arrika Ekulona (Well on Broadway; Righteous Kill), who previously collaborated with Nottage and Whoriskey on the world premiere of Fabulation at Playwrights Horizons. Signature Theatre Company (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Kathryn M. Lipuma, Executive Director) announced today that it would extend August Wilson's KING HEDLEY II one additional week since the originally scheduled run has been sold-out for weeks.
The production will star Josh Strickland as Tarzan, Jenn Gambatese as Jane, Merle Dandridge as Kala, Shuler Hensley as Kerchak, Chester Gregory II as Terk, Timothy Jerome as Professor Porter and Donnie Keshawarz as Clayton. Daniel Manche and Alex Rutherford will alternate in the role of Young Tarzan.
Producer Jeffrey Finn announced today that Academy Award-winning film and stage star Hayley Mills will join legendary star Richard Chamberlain to headline the upcoming National Tour of the beloved play ON GOLDEN POND. The 30-week tour of the two-time 2005 Tony Award-nominated production will launch September 5, 2006 in Fort Worth, Texas at Bass Performance Hall. A complete list of touring cities and venues will be announced in the coming weeks.
