East Side Story Presents Improv Friday at the SecondStory Image

Summer never ends when you're laughing! Come see three of the Seattle area's top improv groups at the premiere show at SecondStory Repertory, all at one low price!

BUNKER 13

Bunker 13 is an improvised comedy set in the Vietnam War. It follows the lives of five solders; Sarge, Rhino, Mick, Joker and Z and takes place primarily in Bunker 13 - their assigned home inside Firebase Mary Ann, Quang Tin Province, South Vietnam. As the squad makes use of their rare break from the war the audience gets a rare look into the hopes, fears, and experiences of soldiers through hilarious improvised dialog, letters from home, flashbacks, and trips "downrange" into the jungle.

EAST SIDE STORY

East Side Story is your host team for SecondStory Repertory's 2017-2018 improv season. With over 1.2 billion years of improv experience between its 15 cast members, East Side Story performs everything from fast-paced crowd-pleasing short form games to traditional Harold-style "plays made up on the spot" long form shows to parodies like the upcoming Realistic Housewives of the East Side. This month is the world premiere of Blankenstein. If you've ever watched a movie or play and thought "I could create a better character than that," here's your chance.

FORMER CHILD STARS

3 gals, 1 pal and some fun times.
(And an appreciation for succinct show descriptions.)

*Portions of Friday show are mature in nature and the show is suggested for adults, and perhaps teenagers with seriously cool parents.

The Improv Comedy Show
starring East Side Story

Fast-paced improv fun, with plays made up on
the spot - all based entirely on your suggestions.

East Side Story brings the laughs to Redmond Town Center Saturday night at 7 pm. It's a non-stop night of improv comedy that YOU help create with your ideas. The action starts with a barrage of made-up-on-the-spot scenes that will keep even Gen Z teens from looking down at their phones. After the break, we'll take your ideas and make up a brand-new long-form "improv play" right on the spot. It's 90 minutes of comedy variety that's never predictable, and that will never be repeated!

*Saturday shows are performed for grown-ups, but are appropriate for the whole family with content generally in the range of a PG-rated movie.
