Deluge is a one-woman show conceived and performed by Gabi Flares, directed and with dramaturgy by Andrea Maciel. In the wake of a relationship, a woman circles the drain, sifting through other people's stories in an attempt to contain her overflowing thoughts, while leaks in her house keep growing and the water keeps rising. Inspired by a break-up and over 40 interviews from a social media call out, the show delves into the different stages of mourning with a magic realist spin, fusing theatre and comedy with physicality, text, clowning, original music and projection. Following a successful 2024 Edinburgh Fringe run, the show returns with no performance on 18 August.
