Tell us a bit about Theme Show

Theme Show is the timeless tale, an anthem classic of a man with that universal dream, creating the world's greatest theme park within the context of a stand up show.
Lacking construction knowledge, financial backing or emotional resilience, I've decided to plump for the second biggest money pit I could think of - a showcase of the park to a local planning committee at the Edinburgh Fringe Show.
Doing the best with what I've got, it features rollercoasters (homemade), Mascots (homemade), fireworks (homemade) and much more in 45 fun packed minutes.

Why bring it to Edinburgh?
I've been performing this show in some form or another since last July, and I had always planned to bring it to the Edinburgh Fringe. It's a dream of nearly every comedian in the making to bring their very own show up to the world's largest arts festival, and I'm so excited to have my opportunity with this debut show. Edinburgh provides an incredible opportunity to perform your show day after day to audiences that are hungry for comedy that is surprising, different and from people they may not have heard of before.

What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?
I think it might be the only ever show to feature a homemade rollercoaster in the history of performance. I'm not sure if anyone has ever tried to make a theme park on stage before, but it's bags of fun and full of silly surprises. It's also on at 11am and suitable for kids, so it's a great way to make your first show of the day a completely different experience to a usual stand up show.

Who would you recommend comes to see you?
Do you like theme parks? Come on down! Do you hate theme parks? Come on Down!
If you like comedy and you like theme parks, this is for you. I've worked in theme parks for years, and the show is partially based on my experience of this so it's from a place of love and also a touch of cynicism.
This is a playful and inventive 45 minutes with (if I dare say) some really spectacular bits of visual jokery that will start your day with a bang (because of the fireworks).
If you're a fan of Tony Law, Sam Simmons, Paul Curry, Trygve Wakenshaw or Spencer Jones then you will love this.

Are there any other shows you're hoping to catch at the festival?
All the guys mentioned above of course. I'm also performing with the enormously talents Joby Mageean at Southside Social 12pm each day, so I'm hoping to catch the start of that immediately after each show with a slight to heavy sprint.
The Delightful Sausage, Funz and Gamez, Gein's Family Gift Shop and Jim Meehan are all NW based acts that I've had a massive pleasure of performing with who are absolutely worth checking out. And I've been watching as many clips of Demi Lardner as I can recently, so her too. (Sorry to everyone I've left out, but there's thousands of shows at the fringe and about 5 mins to panic up some names here).
Edy Hurst: Theme Show takes place at Just the Tonic @ The Tron 20th -27th August 11am (£5 ticket/PWYW)
Joby Mageean and Edy Hurst: Dead Nice Boys takes place at Laughing Horse @ Southside Social 20th - 27th August 12pm (PWYW)
