Tell us a bit about How We Stop The Fascists.

It's an incredibly important, violently relevant and obnoxiously brave piece. It's a direct assault on those fascist forces that have got their creepy little hands into our society. For who better to beat them than an actress with 25-45 years experience on the stage. I had to do it. I wanted to do a show called Anna Anna Anna Me Me Me, but sadly Trump and his ilk have forced me into action! I'll be asking some daring questions, playing a variety of actual real people and attempting to Hot seat Hitler. It will almost definitely end in tears.

Where have you been for the last 30 years?

You mean you never saw the long running sitcom Tiffle in the Wind? No one did to be fair. I've mainly been dining out on my love affair with Drunk Old Freddie Basden (RIP), marrying a shed load of people, hanging about at cheese and sex parties and sleeping.

How do you plan to stop fascism?

By creating the single greatest piece of comedy theatre since 'Woops there goes the geography teacher' (Tittery Whoppet Theatre, Chiswick 1984) A heady challenge but one I'm willing to take in.

What sets this apart from other shows at the Fringe?

Well, me of course. Unless my tribute act is up again. 'Anna Mann Again' - see the original darlings! Did I mention we hotseat Hitler?

Who would you recommend comes to see you?

Anyone who gives a damn about the future of our planet! Or just people who want to laugh till they vomit. Sick bags are provided. I learnt my lesson there last year.

Colin Hoult/Anna Mann in How We Stop the Fascists comes to London on 8th July (Museum of Comedy), 20th July (BAC) and 24th July (Leicester Square Theatre) and the Edinburgh Fringe Pleasance Courtyard, 4:45pm, 2nd - 27th August (except 14th)
