EDINBURGH 2015 - BWW Reviews: IAN SMITH WHEREABOUTS, Pleasance Courtyard, August 9 2015
I stumbled upon Ian Smith last year and it was my comedy highlight of 2014. So my expectations for this years show were pretty high!
There isn't really an overall concept behind the show, it isn't stand-up about one specific topic. Ian Smith is a master of observational comedy and talks about a lot of things that the audience can really relate to.
Last year he did something during his show which I believe I declared the "funniest thing to happen at the fringe". I think he might actually have topped that this year. Smith has a knack for relating material back to things he has mentioned earlier in the show. He has one fantastic instance of this during his show that had the audience in hysterics.
Ian Smith is brilliant at audience interaction and his off-the-cuff humour is excellent. Unlike some comedians he doesn't ridicule audience members and encourages them to get involved. Ian Smith doesn't seem to be trying too hard to be funny and has created another absolutely hilarious show for 2015.
Ticket information for Ian Smith can be found on the edfringe website
