EDINBURGH 2013- BWW Reviews: CHRIS MAYO'S IDENTITY CRISIS, The Caves, August 4 2013
As an actor and a comedian Chris Mayo spends most of his time pretending to be other people. In his stand-up show he aims to find his true identity.
Accompanied by a series of awkward and embarrassing photographs he takes us from his humble beginnings as a wise king in his school nativity to his extensive recent work as an extra.
His stories are brilliant and range from what is potentially the worst school story I have ever heard to being rejected for a casting call where his only requirement was to be ginger.
Just the right amount of self-deprecating, Chris Mayo's show is largely positive and genuinely funny.
Although The Caves is an excellent and unique venue, I can't help but feel that Chris Mayo deserves to be on a bigger stage with a packed-out audience.
Chris Mayo appears at Just The Tonic, The Caves, until August 25th. Ticket information here.
