Nicolas Ellis makes his conducting debut with the San Francisco Symphony, leading a program of Shakespeare-inspired works. Violinist Geneva Lewis also makes her SF Symphony debut, performing Ralph Vaughan Williams's The Lark Ascending and Franz Waxman's Carmen Fantasy. The program also features Richard Wagner's Forest Murmurs from Siegfried, Felix Mendelssohn's music from A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet, Fantasy-Overture. The concert is performed at Frost Amphitheater on July 16 and at Davies Symphony Hall on July 17.
