Celebration Arts Stages AGNES OF GOD, Now thru 4/28

Celebration Arts presents Agnes of God, a drama by John Pielmeier, at 4469 D Street, Sacramento, Calif. The production opens tonight, March 28, 2013, playing shows Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. through April 28, 2013.

Agnes, a young nun, is accused of murdering her newborn. A court-appointed psychiatrist is to assess the nun's sanity. The Mother Superior arouses suspicion by trying to keep the doctor from Agnes. Questions arise. Who killed the baby? Who fathered the child? The three women must examine the meaning of faith and the power of love.

The production features Voress Franklin, Alana Mathews and Imani Mitchell.
