Author Ann Hood to Join Epic Theatre for AN ITALIAN WIFE Talkback
"Ann has been so gracious to us," said Epic Artistic Director Kevin Broccoli, who also adapted the work for the stage, "She knows these characters so well. It's going to be wonderful to share her insights with an audience. An Italian Wife is already one of the most anticipated theatrical events of the season, and having the book's author join us at the theater is only going to heighten the level of enthusiasm and interest people have in the show."
"An Italian Wife" is a family saga spread out over decades, and told from the perspective of Josephine Rimaldi, her children, and grandchildren. One is trying to recover from the loss of her husband by finding comfort in the arms of married men. One is dreaming of escaping from her small town on a bus when she meets up with a handsome soldier. Another is harboring a secret love for the village priest. All the while, Josephine is fixated on the child she gave up many years ago, and wondering if she'll ever find her again.
