Artists' Exchange Seeks Children and Youth Models, Director for Spring 2014 Fashion Show

By:

Artists' Exchange seeks enthusiastic children and youth fashion-lovers to model in its first Children's Fashion Show (co-ed) this spring at Theatre 82. Boys and girls are welcome to audition, ages 4-14. The show will feature current seasonal fashions from local boutiques and clothing shops. Models will wear clothing and accessories as selected by the Director and Clothing Vendors, and showcase these current trends on the "runway." Participants must be available for dates of commitment.

Auditions will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM-3:00 PM (10 minute slots per person) at Theatre 82 (82 Rolfe Square, Cranston, RI 02910). Bring a headshot or current photo and wear an outfit that best showcases your fashion sense and personality. Models will be asked to demonstrate their best runway walk and spin; music will be provided.

All events and rehearsals are hosted at Theatre 82 (82 Rolfe Square, Cranston, RI 02910). The Fashion Show is Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 3:00-5:00 PM and the dress rehearsal is Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 3:00-5:00 PM (model arrival time will be at least one hour prior to curtain, at 2:00 PM). Fittings & Additional Rehearsals (if necessary) will be determined based on schedules

If you are interested in participating as a model, please email Jessica Bradley at jessica.bradley@artists-exchange.org to reserve your audition slot. Slots are every 10 minutes. Please list your first and second preferred times and your parent/guardian's contact information (name, phone number, and email address). You will receive a confirmation email of your reserved audition slot.

Upon arrival for your audition, you will fill out a brief Audition Form; please allot time to do this before your scheduled slot.

Artists' Exchange is also seeking an enthusiastic and organized fashion-lover to direct its first Children & Youth Fashion Show this spring at Theatre 82. An ideal director has experience working with children in a management and/or teaching role, interest and background in fashion and/or retail, and experience in special events coordination. He or she must be a team player.

The Fashion Show Director's responsibilities include: working with Artists' Exchange Coordinator to schedule any meetings, rehearsals, fittings, or appointments; coordinating with the participating boutiques/clothing vendors about the selected wardrobes and accessories; serving as primary person in all creative and artistic decisions, from creating the program (order of models, thematic elements); to selecting musical accompaniment; to choosing lighting effects (if applicable); and more. Volunteer position.

The director ust be available for all dates of commitment listed above. It is preferred but not mandatory that the director attend the auditions for children models on March 1.

If interested, please send a brief letter of introduction and why you would like to direct the show. Include your contact information (phone number and email address) and, if available/desired, a resume or pertinent materials. Email to Jessica Bradley at jessica.bradley@artists-exchange.org.
