A TRUE MUTUAL BOND OF RESPECT AND AFFECTION!: Without question, the artist and activist Harry Belafonte held the utmost affection and regard for the greatest leader of The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, the late, great Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the regard, affection and respect Dr. King had for Harry Belafonte was mutual. Harry Belafonte believed in King's Dream of Racial Harmony and Human Rights and Dignity. Belafonte raised money and helped organize King's 1963 March On Washington, and spent his own money to help and support Freedom Riders in The Deep South. The bond between Belafonte and Dr. King was genuine and deep.
