About the album
Soundtrack songs by Michel Legrand (music) and Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman (lyrics). Disc 1 features the original Yentl soundtrack; and Disc 2 features 15 additional tracks: demos Barbra recorded in her living room on a stereo cassette deck to get the movie made, while also providing her narration. Demo recordings feature Barbra accompanied only by Michel Legrand on piano.
