Common Ground Theatre Announces August Events And Shows

Common Ground Theatre (www.cgtheatre.com) is a performance and teaching space located in west Durham, offering performing arts and educational groups a flexible, well-equipped alternative space. The Theatre provides a convenient venue for Triangle audiences to experience the diversity of our area's arts and educational offerings. All events listed will be held at Common Ground Theatre. The Theatre is hosting the following events in August, 2011:
[THEATRE, FAMILY]Common Ground Performing Arts Camp Presents: Children of Greece adapted by Rachel Klem
The myths of "Pandora's Box," "Daedalus & Icharus" and "The Midas Touch" have been igniting children's imaginations for thousands of years. Our summer camp production is adapted from Nathaniel Hawthorne's Tanglewood Tales and Ovid's Metamorphoses, and follow the exceptional journey of the children in these ancient stories. With special Guests: TAFFY- Transactors for Families.

Mandler Music Presents: An Evening of MANDLER Music
The evening will feature original material written by Jeff Mandler. It will consist of two sets - one acoustic and one full band. There will be a few cover songs played, but mostly material from Jeff's 2 CDs - "Today Not Tomorrow" and "Happy with Me". Jeff Mandler will do a short acoustic set, followed by a set with his band - MANDLER . MANDLER is a 5 piece electric rock/pop band based out of Raleigh, NC featuring: Jeff Mandler on acoustic/electric guitar and lead vocals, Rob Ruth on drums, Andy Coltrate on electric guitar, Kris Meyer on bass, and Leslie Ward on harmony vocals. Jeff played the theatre 5 years ago and is back for another incredible evening of music and fun. Come out and rock with the band!
