By: Jul. 14, 2011

Walnut Street Theatre and The Philadelphia Inquirer announce their second year of partnership focusing on theatre and writing for local high-school students! The 2011-2012 "Seeing the Stage Through Our Eyes" Program invites students, grades 9-12, to participate in a year-long program at America's Oldest Theatre. Students from around the region will be chosen to become theatre writers for Walnut Street Theatre and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Participants will:

• Receive admission to all five of Walnut Street Theatre's 2011-2012 Mainstage final Dress Rehearsals for the student and an adult (parent, guardian, relative, teacher, mentor, clergy, etc.)

• Submit a feature article for each show. All articles will be published on Walnut Street Theatre's website and select submissions will be printed in full-run and online editions of The Philadelphia Inquirer
.
• Attend project-related enrichment events, including a kick-off reception at the offices of The Philadelphia Inquirer and other backstage events at Walnut Street Theatre.
