Ellis Island got a little more Broadway last night, as Ragtime was presented in an  invitation-only, one-night-only event, narrated by two-time Tony Award winner and original Ragtime Broadway cast member Brian Stokes Mitchell. The concert starred  two-time Tony Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (Shuffle Along, Motown) as Coalhouse Walker Jr., Olivier Award winner Laura Michelle Kelly (Finding Neverland, Mary Poppins) as Mother, Emmy Award winner Michael Park(Dear Evan Hansen, Tuck Everlasting) as Father, acclaimed stage and television star Andy Mientus (Spring Awakening, Les Miserables) as Younger Brother, Shaina Taub (Hadestown, Old Hats) as Emma Goldman, Aisha Jackson (Waitress, Beautiful) as Sarah, and Robert Petkoff (All The Way,Ragtime) reprising his 2009 Broadway revival role of Tateh.

The highly anticipated Broadway premiere of the original musical Dear Evan Hansen begins previews on Monday, November 14, 2016 and will officially open at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) on Sunday, December 4, 2016. With a book by Obie Award-winner Steven Levenson, score by Tony Award nominees Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, and direction by 3-time Tony Award nomineeMichael Greif, Dear Evan Hansen had its world premiere at Arena Stage, Washington D.C., this past summer and recently concluded its record-breaking New York debut at Off-Broadway's Second Stage.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater will soon present Ben Platt (Pitch Perfect, The Book of Mormon) in the original world-premiere musical debuting this summer. The production, by Tony Award-nominated composing duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dogfight; A Christmas Story, The Musical) and Outer Critics Circle Award-winning playwright Steven Levenson(Masters of Sex), is directed by Tony Award nominee Michael Greif (If/Then, Next to Normal, Rent) and will run July 10-August 23, 2015 in the Kreeger Theater.
